PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for correcting the shape of a counter weight of a crankshaft and a twisting apparatus to be used in the method, by which method and apparatus, a necessary and sufficient correcting effect can be obtained in the existing forging processes without increasing the number of the forging processes. SOLUTION: A movable twisting die 7A for twisting is divided into die segments 10a, 10b to be arranged on both sides of a counter weight 3a and other die segments 10c, 10d. Screws 11, 12 to be engaged with the twist dies 10a, 10b and a guide roller 9a for supporting them are formed. The counter weight 3a is gripped by being pressed from both sides by means of the die twist dies 10a, 10b according to the swiveling motion of the movable twisting die 7A for the twisting in order to correct the shape of the counter weight 3a, such as a tilt.
