PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a multi-ring type network system and an intersection node in which data communication can be sustained even upon occurrence of double troubles. SOLUTION: A plurality of nodes are connected in ring by an optical transmission path (two core optical fibers 10) of 0 system and 1 system to form a 0 system route and a 1 system route. A plurality of rings including the 0 system route and 1 system route are interconnected by intersection nodes 01 to constitute a multi-ring type network system. The intersection node 01 is provided with an additional TS termination board 13 for terminating additional TS information of line unit at an additional TS terminating section 14, judging normality of the 0 system route and 1 system route based on the received additional TS information and the data of line unit, selecting a normal route side by controlling a selector 15, and transmitting the received data of line unit and the additional TS information to the 0 system route and 1 system route.
