PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus capable of designating a scan parameter as well as a scan box at the same time. SOLUTION: When any of scan boxes 221, 221, ... is designated via an operation section 15, a CPU 10 reads the scan parameter stored in a parameter storage section 131 associated with the designated scan box 221, a read section 19 reads an image of an original to generate image data in response to the read scan parameter, and the designated scan box 221 stores the generated image data.
