PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the same manual feed unit to be used for image formation device products different in the maximum width of feedable sheets and different in the width of a required manual feed unit; and to improve cost reduction and reuse capability. SOLUTION: This manual feed unit having a sheet mounting means for mounting sheets thereon and a sheet feeding means for sequentially separating and feeding the mounted sheets is characterized by that the sheet feeding means comprises at least one feed roller and a pair of side plates supporting the feed roller; the widthwise length of the sheet feeding means can be changed in a predetermined range; and a fixation means for fixing it at an arbitrary length in the predetermined range is provided. In this case, the feed roller is supported to the side plates by a rotary shaft, and the rotary shaft is extensible in a predetermined range. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
