<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a joined body in which the joined body having a desired shape is obtained by easily and surely joining two sintered compacts and to provide the joined body manufactured by the manufacturing method of the joined body. <P>SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the joined body, a 1st sintered compact 11 and a 2nd sintered compact 12 are prepared, the 2nd sintered compact 12 is placed on the upper surface 21a of a supporting body 21, the 1st sintered compact 11 is laid on the 2nd sintered compact 11 and a pressing body 22 is placed so that the back surface 22a of the pressing body 22 is abutted on the the upper surface of the 1st sintered compact 11. As a result, the 1st sintered compact 11 is pressed downward by the dead weight of the pressing body 22. That is, external stress acts downward on each sintered compact 11, 12 ( assembled body 10).
