<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a drive control method which improve print quality by eliminating the effect of cogging in a motor and reducing a speed variation. <P>SOLUTION: The printer 10 performs printing to an object of printing 12, and comprises a print head 32 to discharge ink droplets to the object of printing 12, a motor 25 having a brush 25g and a commutator 25e, a motor control means 76 to provide motor driving information based on a control command to the motor 25, and measuring means 36 and 37 to measure the influence of cogging in the motor 25. The motor control means 76 computes correction information to cancel cogging occurring in the motor 25 and corrects the motor driving information by the correction information, on the basis of the result of measurement in the measuring means 36 and 37. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
