PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptical device which attains high definition of pixels by reducing an off-current without reducing storage capacitance and can be highly efficiently manufactured in a simple process. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device (electrooptical device) 100 is provided with a thin-film transistor 30 provided with a semiconductor layer 3 and gate electrodes 31, 32 opposing the semiconductor layer 3 via a gate insulating film 2; and a storage capacitance 70 connected to the thin-film transistor 30. In the device, the gate insulating film 2 of the thin-film transistor 30 consists of a laminated film of a first insulating film 24 and a second insulating film 26, and the storage capacitance 70 has only the second insulating film 26 out of the gate insulating film 2 as a dielectric film.
