PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user himself (or herself) to select a black-and-white output or a color output in an image processor. SOLUTION: A document is read out by a reading unit 1. Image data decomposed to RGB colors are sent to a scanner corrector 2 and a document attribute determination part 4. The scanner corrector 2 executes conversion from a RGB color space into an sRGB color space, filter processing, and variable power processing. The document attribute determination part 4 discriminates whether the document is a color document or a black-and-white document. The image data and the determined result are stored in a printer controller 17. The stored RGB image data and the attribute determination result are read out to extend and restore the image data.
