PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pretreatment device and a pretreatment method of gas to be analyzed for achieving the analysis of an organic compound contained in gas generated when carbonizing coal by a coke oven, and achieving a precise analysis. SOLUTION: The pretreatment device comprises a foreign object elimination means for eliminating a foreign object in the gas to be analyzed and a concentration means for adsorbing the organic compound contained in the gas to be analyzed after the foreign object is eliminated and then performing concentration by heating and adsorbing the adsorbed organic compound. The pretreatment method includes a foreign object elimination process for eliminating the foreign object in the gas to be analyzed, an adsorption process for adsorbing the organic compound contained in the gas to be analyzed after the elimination of the foreign object, and a desorption process for heating and desorbing at least an organic compound to be analyzed in the adsorbed organic compound.
