PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thrust roller bearing excellent in durability, for securing sufficient plate thickness and a proper amount of clearance between a roller and a roller stop part to keep strength of a cage, and to provide a manufacturing method for a cage of a thrust roller bearing. SOLUTION: From a coil material (in a step a), a ring-like member is taken out by a punching process (in a step b), a projecting part is formed at a center part of the ring-like member by a pressing process of the ring-like member (in a step C), both end parts are lifted to form a W-shaped cross-sectional face (in a step d), and inner and outer diameters of the cage is finished to be in predetermined dimension and shape (in steps e, f). By a punching process, a plurality of pockets housing the rollers are formed (in a step g), a first roller contact part and a second roller contact part are formed in each wall face of the pocket, and the stop part is formed to the roller contact part by a pressing process (in a step h).
