PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal joint capable of improving assemblability by stabilizing a press-in position of a bearing at a time of assembly and suppressing swing torque small. SOLUTION: In the universal joint connecting two shafts crossing at a predetermined angle, joining a yoke provided on opposing end parts of two shafts by a cross shaft, rotatably pivotally supporting each journal part of the cross shaft end via a bearing retained in a bearing cap 5, and having an elastically deformable thrust piece 7 provided between a shaft end surface of the journal part and an inner surface of the bearing cap 5, a projection 7b (or groove) is formed on an abutment surface of the thrust piece 7 on an inner surface of the bearing cap 5.
