PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal type continuously variable transmission smoothly rocking a yoke accompanying offset of a trunnion at a time of shifting while regulating rocking (rotation) of a yoke support member around an axis, and obtaining high dimensional precision by relatively simple machining. SOLUTION: In this toroidal type continuously variable transmission, a plurality of locking holes 19A, 19B having a cylindrical inner circumference surface engage with support parts having convex spherical outer circumference surface of a plurality of corresponding support members 68A, 68B arranged between pivot shafts 14, 14 of a pair of the trunnions 15, 15, consequently, a yoke 23B can rock in a plane including the both pivot shafts 14, 14 of a pair of the trunnions 15, 15 and can not rock around axes of the support members 68A, 68B.
