PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extremely economical and simple mushroom growth accelerating agent and good beds for mushroom growth. SOLUTION: The mushroom growth accelerating agent comprising wood extract solution is obtained via following steps: the cooking step where woods are charged in a pressure vessel and saturated steam is fed from a saturated steam feeder into the pressure vessel to carry out the cooking; the the pressure reduction step where the inside of the pressure vessel is reduced with the pressure reduction means; further, the cooking step where wood material is received in the pressure vessel having the mushroom growth accelerating agent comprising the solution extracted from the wood and saturated steam is fed by means of saturated steam feeder in the pressure vessel to carry out the cooking; and the pressure reduction step where the inside pressure of the pressure vessel is reduced. The resultant growth accelerating agent is mixed with the mushroom bed including sawdust or wood chips to prepare the artificial mushroom beds. Then, the strains of Pleurotus ostreatus (Hiratake mushroom) is inoculated and cultivated to harvest fruiting bodies. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
