Preparation of a component, especially a turbine component in a mold (10) with a sprayed on coating (14) (SOC) on the mold surface involving spraying of the coating onto the mold surface, casting of material in the mold so that a permanent adhesive bond is formed between the coating and the cast material, and withdrawal of the component from the mold with the coating. Before applying the SOC a separation layer (12) is applied to the mold surface, and after applying it an oxidation protection layer is applied to the mold surface. The SOC is applied by a thermal process, especially plasma spraying, flame spraying or high rate flame spraying : An independent claim is included for a turbine component obtained as above. |
