A digital multifunction and information display device and method, which may include a plurality of buttons (31, 32, 33, 40) that have button information corresponding to a plurality of modes. Once a mode is selected the information displayed corresponding to the plurality of buttons may be changed to detailed information corresponding to the selected mode. The method may include selecting a button corresponding to a desired mode of operation, changing the mode information of each of the buttons to detailed information of the selected mode, and displaying the detailed information.
