A system and a method for supporting multi-language in a mobile communication terminal are provided to enable a translation server to translate a text message, which is made in a language except a preset language, into the preset language and transmit the translated text message to the mobile communication terminal, thereby solving inconvenience caused by difference in language between regions. An SMS(Short Message Service) center(110) receives language setting information from a mobile communication terminal(200) and stores the received language setting information in its user information database(112). When receiving a text message to the mobile communication terminal(200), the SMS center(110) requests translation of the received text message on the basis of the stored language setting information. A translation server(120) receives the text message and a desired language from the SMS center(110) and translates the text message into the desired language.
