METHOD FOR TREATING THE CASES OF COMMINUTED FRACTURES OF CALCANEUS

FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves applying compression-distraction apparatus. Two crossing wires are brought through anterior calcaneus segment. One of them is moved from back to foot sole from internal side at an angle of 30° to horizontal plane. The other one is moved from the foot sole backward from internal side at an angle of 35° to horizontal plane. The wires are fixed on distal arch support member connected to ring-shaped base support member by means of axially movable threaded end pieces. The latter is placed at the level of lower one-third of tibia diaphyses and is attached to them by means of crossed wires. One of the wires passes through both crural bones, the second one through the tibia only in parallel to its internal edge. Rest wire is brought through calcaneal tuberosity from dislocation side with thrust against the horizontal plane in perpendicular to long axis of the calcaneus. Wire ends are fixed on cantilevers in higedly mounted U-shaped support member axially and angularly movable bmodistal arch support member. After having eliminated all kinds of displacements, stabilization is performed. ^ EFFECT: full-scale reduction achieved; restored Beller angle and subtalar articulation congruence. ^ 2 dwg
