FIELD: inorganic compounds technologies. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for chemical and printing industries, perfumery and cosmetics and can be used in preparation of pigments or fillers for paper, glues, paints, rubber goods, and skin and lip care agents. Barium salt and sulfate solutions with concentration al 0.9 M, preferably aqueous solutions of BaCl2 and Na2SO4, are mixed in reactor operated in continuous mode and provided with rotor rotated with speed 2000 to 8000 rpm. Due to rotation of rotor, shearing, cutting, and friction forces are developed in resulting reaction mixture. Residence time of mixture in reactor lies preferably within millisecond range. Precipitate of barium sulfate is carried out at 0 to 100°C, while using moistener or dispersant during and/or after precipitation. Slurry discharged from reactor is filtered and isolated barium sulfate is washed one or more times and dried.
