<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform data entry by one-touch operation by discriminating the type of entry data by merely touching a finger tip on a dial part when different types of numerical data or item data are set, inputted, or accessed regarding a dial for rotary encoder data entry. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of fittedly recessed parts 1-11, 1-12, and 1-13 fitted to the finger tip are provided in the dial 1-10 for rotary encoder data entry. A surface treatment such as a plating is applied to the surfaces of the fittedly recessed parts with an electrically conductive material such as a metal. The conductive material is led to rear surface conductive members 1-17, 1-18, and 1-19 through conductors 1-14, 1-15, and 1-16, and the rear surface conductive members are connected to a touch detection means so that a specific fittedly recessed part among the fittedly recessed parts 1-11, 1-12, and 1-13 on which the finger tip touches can be detected.
