FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves calculating arteriole thickness inhomogeneity as blood vessel inhomogeneity on segment under study, measured in percents using digital images of eye fundus, thickness oscillation amplitude showing blood vessel walls path deviation degree from straight line measured in pixels and arteriole thickness oscillation frequencies disclosing the number of blood vessel wall direction changes per unit of its length measured in reversed pixels, venules line oscillation amplitude describing line path deviations from straight line measured in pixels; venules line oscillation frequency determining the number of line direction changes per unit of blood vessel length measured in reversed pixels. Endothelial blood serum factors are studied like nitrogen oxide in mole/l, superficial adhesive molecule (sVCAM) in ng/ml, endotheline in fmole/l, Willebrand factor measured in % and tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA) measured in ng/ml. Observed changes of the values are interpreted in terms of functional, or subclinical, or clinical diabetic retinopathy stage. ^ EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in differentiating early stages of disease. ^ 3 cl, 1 dwg |
