PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron beam irradiation apparatus which can control the generation of ozone in an irradiation portion to prevent the deterioration in the flavor of a food material, when the material such as a granular material or a powdery granular material, used for food is irradiated with electron beams. SOLUTION: This electron beam irradiation apparatus characterized by disposing a dispersion structure for giving impacts to the granular material dropping in a charging route to disperse the granular material and a gas-blowing port at a place near to the dispersion structure, thereby dispersing the granular material, removing oxygen, and replacing the oxygen by nitrogen gas or an inert gas to prevent the generation of ozone by the irradiation of electron beams. |
