PURPOSE: A lithium ion polymer battery is provided to accomplish the protection of electrolyte loss and/or leak due to joint failure caused from thickness of metal lead in the battery by specific arrangement of individual parts of the battery. CONSTITUTION: The polymer battery comprises a laminated electrode assembly(11); a positive and a negative taps(12a, 13a) spaced in a desired interval and connected to both of leads(14, 15), respectively; an insulating case(16) with a cover(16a) enclosing and sealing the assembly(1), taps(12a, 13a) and leads(14, 15). The case(16) and the cover(16a) are usually laminated together onto top and bottom sides of the aluminum thin film by thermal adhesive polymer. The cover(16a) is jointed to a flange(16b) to form a space receiving the assembly(11). parts of the leads(14, 15) are exposed out of the battery to electrically connect the assembly(11) to any exterior device(31). |
