The invention relates to a face milling insert comprising a pair of main cutting edges (4) which are spaced apart from a centre (C) and meet at a corner where they transform into a surface wiping secondary edge (5), which is intersected by a bisector defining said corner between the main cutting edges, inside each main cutting edge a slope surface (11) being formed, which slopes towards a countersunk bottom surface (12) in a chip surface (1). A shoulder (15), having a top side (16) situated at a higher level than said bottom surface (12), extends inwardly from the secondary edge (5), the slope surface (11) of the main cutting edge (4) that actively co-operates with the secondary edge, terminating at the shoulder (15). |
