A vehicle camera system comprises a camera, X, located in the vehicle, a number of lenses B at located on the vehicles body and/or trim, preferably connected to the camera X and able to scan areas surrounding the vehicle, and sensors, A, also located on the vehicle body and/or trim, and preferably connected to the camera, X, sensing impact and activating the lenses B upon doing so. The system may be powered by its own power source, or the vehicle battery. Preferably the lenses can operate under low light conditions if necessary, and the system may have the potential to take a number of photographs at delayed intervals. Motion sensors, C, may be located at various points on the vehicle body and/or trim, activated in the event of a break in. A further lens, activated by the motion sensors C, may be positioned inside the vehicle to obtain photographic evidence of an intruder.
