The body is held in position using one or more means chosen from tilt bearings, magnetic bearings, gas bearings, fluid bearings, glide bearings or elastic hinges. Movement of the body is carried out using at least one actuator (5) for each displacement device, e.g. a magnetically movable component, especially an immersion coil, or a ceramic component which changes shape as a result of electrical and/or magnetic stimulus. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# For positioning a body in a cryogenic fluid. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# A body can be positioned in a cryogenic environment to an accuracy of several microns.
