NAKHABA'S METHOD FOR SURGICAL TREATMENT OF LARGE INTRACRANIAL HEMATOMAS WITH ACCOMPANYING COMPRESSION AND DEFORMITY OF BRAIN HEMISPHERES

摘要

The method for the surgical treatment of the large intracranial hematomas with accompanying compression and deformity of the brain hemispheres consists in craniotomy within the first hours after the diagnosis of the large intracranial hematoma. Through the defect in the cranium, 10x15 cm in size, the hematoma is completely removed. The parasagittal areas of the deformed hemisphere are selectively fixed with the hemostatic sponge providing for these parasagittal areas to be secured mechanically upon the postoperative spread of the deformed hemisphere.
