The actuator has a U-shaped magnetic yoke (2) whose base and lateral walls define a volume housing a magnetic core (3). The walls have bent ends (8, 9), and the core is surrounded by an induction coil. The core moves between a position of attraction towards the base when the coil is traversed by a current, and a position remote from the base in the absence of current. The core projects beyond the opening of the U in the remote position. An independent claim is also included for a circuit breaker type modular electrical apparatus including a magnetic actuator.
