Organosilicon compounds having a silicon-bonded hydroxy or hydrolyzable group and a rubber-reactive aminopolysulfide group (I) are new. Organosilicon compounds having a silicon-bonded hydroxy or hydrolyzable group and a rubber-reactive aminopolysulfide group of formula (I) are new. R<1> = an (un)saturated aliphatic and/or (un)saturated or aromatic (poly)carbocyclic hydrocarbon group optionally substituted or interrupted with O and/or NR or NRR'; R, R' = H or (un)saturated aliphatic and/or (un)saturated or aromatic (poly)carbocyclic hydrocarbon groups; x = 2-4; and R<2>, R<3> = H or (un)saturated aliphatic and/or (un)saturated or aromatic (poly)carbocyclic hydrocarbon groups, but not both H, or NR<2>R<3> is a 5- to 7-membered ring with 3-6 C atoms, at least one N atom and 0-2 double bonds. Independent claims are also included for: (1) five processes for preparing specific compounds (I); (2) diene elastomer compositions containing a white reinforcing filler, prepared using an organosilicon compound containing a group of formula (I); (3) production of the compositions of (2) by mixing the non-vulcanizing ingredients in an internal mixer at 80-200 deg C, transferring the mixture to an external mixer and adding vulcanizing agents and/or accelerators at a temperature below 120 deg C; (4) articles made from the compositions. |
