<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating apparatus capable of preventing a coating liquid from being transferred to a backup roller, thereby increasing the line speed, and to provide a coating method. <P>SOLUTION: In the coating apparatus, a guide member 100 is provided on a slide surface 86 of a slide bead coater 84, thus guiding the coating liquid 88 flowing at the end in the cross direction to the slide bead coater 84 laterally. As a result, no coating liquid 88 is flown between the tip of the slide surface 86 and the exposed surface of the backup roller 82, thereby preventing the backup roller 82 from being deposited with the coating liquid 88. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
