PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device and an image processing method, wherein an image indicated by image data can be converted into an image that is conformable to the sense of vision of a human being. SOLUTION: The image processing device is equipped with an image reading unit 12 which acquires image data indicating an image that is to be subjected to processing, and an image processing unit 20 which subjects the acquired image data to image processing so as to make the local density of the image indicated by the image data correspond with the sense of vision of a human being.
