PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a precise organic monomolecular film which is capable of forming the same in a short time with a simple step.

SOLUTION: The method for forming the organic molecular film on a substrate is characterized by immersing the substrate into a solution containing an organic compound having a functional group capable of organic chemically causing a reaction with a functional group exposed to the surface of the substrate and irradiating microwave thereto.
