A casing adapted to be fitted inside a furnace wall 5 to surround an aperture 7 therein for a burner 6 comprises a chamber having an air inlet aperture 9 which registers with an aperture in the furnace wall and an air outlet aperture 8. A valve 10 is housed in the inlet aperture 9. The casing is formed by an outer cylindrical wall 1 and an integral or separate inner frusto-conical wall 2. Inclined vanes may be disposed in the chamber. A ring may be detachably secured to the large diameter end of the frusto-conical wall 2. |
