PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent waste toner deposited on a seam of a photoreceptor from being deposited at the same portion of a contact electrifying member in an image forming apparatus and a photoreceptor unit equipped with the photoreceptor having a seam. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes the photoreceptor with a seam, a contact electrifying means of coming into contact with the photoreceptor to charge the photoreceptor, an exposure means of exposing the photoreceptor to form an electrostatic latent image on the photoreceptor, a developing means of developing the electrostatic latent image with toner to form a toner image on the photoreceptor, a transfer means of transferring the toner image to a transfer material, and a fixing means of fixing the toner image on the transfer material, and is characterized in that the ratio A/B of the peripheral length B of the contact electrifying member constituting the contact electrifying means to the peripheral length A of the photoreceptor is neither an integer nor a numeral close to an integer.
