PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a write current control chip and a magnetic disk apparatus using the write current control chip by which ATI (Adjacent Track Interference) occurring according to a using method of the magnetic disk apparatus can be effectively avoided. SOLUTION: The write current control chip comprises a means for obtaining the frequency of write processing for writing data to a magnetic disk by a magnetic head in the magnetic disk apparatus, a decision means for deciding a write current value used in the case of writing the data to the magnetic disk by the magnetic head based on the obtained write processing frequency and a means for instructing the magnetic head to write the data to the magnetic disk using the decided write current value.
