PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating method in a heating furnace for suppressing the generation of lap flaws after rolling of an ordinary steel slab of 0.12 to 0.17(mass%) C, 0.4 to 0.6(mass%) Mn, 0.05 to 0.15(mass%) Si by setting heating conditions in the heating furnace. SOLUTION: The slab is heated up to the slab surface temperature of 1,250±20°C within a range of 50±10 minutes before the extraction from the heating furnace, and thereafter, the slab is heated up to the slab surface temperature of 1,230±20°C within a range of 230±20 minutes after the insertion into the heating furnace and is then extracted.
