PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for repairing an iron-tapping hole in a blast furnace or the like with which cutting time in the repairing time is shortened and the consumption of a refractory filled up in the cutting portion and the repairing frequency of the iron-tapping hole can be reduced. SOLUTION: When the iron-tapping hole 7 of the blast furnace or the like is plugged by using a mud-gun 3 having a cylindrical top end part 4, the circumferential part 8 of the iron-tapping hole 7 abutted on the top end part 4 of the mud-gun 3 is cut off to form an annular groove 9. After filling up monolithic refractory 10 into this annular groove 9, the monolithic refractory 10 is deformed so that the inner surface shape of the annular groove 9 is inevitably matched to the outer surface shape of the tip end part 4 of the mud-gun 3, by pushing the tip end part 4 of the mud-gun 3 into the annular groove 9.
