PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for producing reconditioned sand by which high removal ratio of impurities, improved casting quality, increased mold strength and further increased yield are achieved. SOLUTION: The method for producing the reconditioned includes a step where recovered sand obtained by crushing the mold formed by using molding sand is brought into contact with superheated steam at normal pressure, wherein the temperature of the superheated steam is preferably≥300°C.
