PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spot welding quality determination method, and a spot welding machine capable of determining the quality of a weld of the spot welding with excellent accuracy. SOLUTION: The spot welding machine 1 to weld a workpiece by press-holding an overlapping portion of a workpiece by an upper electrode 22 and a lower electrode 26, and running the AC current between the upper electrode 22 and the lower electrode 26, comprises an between-electrode resistance acquiring means to acquire the resistance between the upper electrode and the lower electrode during the welding for each half cycle of the AC current generated by a power supply device 4, a ranking pattern preparation means to prepare the ranking pattern when ranking the resistances from the larger one, and a quality determination means to determine the quality of the spot welding by comparing the reference ranking pattern prepared in advance with the ranking pattern prepared by the ranking pattern preparation means.
