A component for optical devices which is a molded product produced by molding and then curing a molding material containing a cement material with hydration reactivity is disclosed. Such a component can be used as, for example, a housing of segment displays or projection displays, a reflector, an optical recording medium, or an optical component-supporting member in optical heads.
