The collector has a pneumatic compression device for compressing wastage in a container (15), and a removable battery (23) attached at outer side of the collector to provide electrical supply to the device. The device has an inflatable airbag which acts upon a plate-shaped or piston-type pressing device that is guided in the container. An electromotor-driven compressor is provided for inflating the air bag.
