A ceramic hob consists of a plastic element (12) made of a cross-linked polymer. The cross-linking is achieved by exposure to high-energy radiation, e.g. radioactive beta radiation using cobalt-60. The element forms an outer housing for a glass plate (10), and the plastic is melted onto the component. The plate has side sections (16,18), a ventilation slot, support elements, and heater elements.
|
