There are provided a method for producing a decoration in which a decoration additionally printed with a pattern can be easily obtained, and a decoration. A second pattern layer (8) is printed additionally by an ink jet printer onto the surface of an adhesive layer (6) in a transfer film (1) having a transfer pattern layer (5) formed on a substrate sheet (2) through a strip layer (4) and coated with the adhesive layer (6). The transfer film (1) additionally printed with the second pattern layer (8) is then brought into contact with a print object surface by hot press, thus transferring the pattern and the additionally printed second pattern to the print object surface.
