<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for easily visually recognizing the existence of a sheet discharged to a sheet discharge part. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises the sheet discharge 15 formed so as to be released through a releasing part in the forward X1 for taking out the sheet in an image forming apparatus body 1, and discharged in right and left directions Y1 and Y2 by seeing the sheet from forward X1 and an opening 17 for lighting in the sheet discharge 15. The opening 17 is for introducing light so that the space positioning a rear end side of a carrying direction of the sheet discharged to the sheet discharge 15 is not dark.
