<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing glycerol mono(meth)acrylate, without causing corrosion of a production device by a used acid catalyst, exhibiting a high catalyst activity and without leaving impurity derived from the acid catalyst in the produced glycerol mono(meth)acrylate in producing the glycerol mono(meth)acrylate by reacting glycidyl (meth)acrylate with water. <P>SOLUTION: This glycerol mono(meth)acrylate is produced by using a zirconium compound as a solid acid catalyst, e.g. ≥1 kind of zirconia sulfate, zirconia phosphate and zirconia tungstate in producing the glycerol mono(meth)acrylate by reacting glycidyl (meth)acrylate with water. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
