<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress winding of a recording material around a fixing member and disarray of a developer in a fixing step in an image forming apparatus capable of forming an entirely frameless image. <P>SOLUTION: In an image forming method including: an electrostatic latent image forming step of forming an electrostatic latent image on a charged image carrier; a developing step of developing the electrostatic latent image by shifting a toner to the latent image; a transfer step of electrostatically transferring the resulting toner image visualized by the toner on the image carrier onto a recording material; and a fixing step of heat-fixing the toner image on the recording material, an image whose length in at least one of main and secondary scanning directions is larger than the length of the recording material is formed on the image carrier, part of the image is transferred onto the recording material and fixed, and the toner is a color toner obtained by a wet process including: an agglomerating step of preparing an agglomerated particle dispersion by forming agglomerated particles in a dispersion prepared by dispersing fine resin particles containing a binder resin and a release agent and colorant particles; and a fusing step of fusing the agglomerated particles by heating the agglomerated particle dispersion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
