<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a lens which includes recycling lens base material by stripping a primer layer or a hard coat layer. <P>SOLUTION: The outer peripheral part of the lens base material is worked into a prescribed shape by cutting (outer fairing process; step 32), thereafter, cut edge faces are polished up to the same extent as lens surface (polishing process; step 33) and the primer layer or the hard coat layer is formed on the surface of the lens base material (layer formation process; steps 34, 35). When a failure occurs on the primer layer or the hard coat layer and, therefore, the lens base material is regenerated (step 38), the primer layer or the hard coat layer is removed without leaving even the layers applied on the edge faces at all because the edge faces are polished and, as the result, by using regenerated lens base material, a high-performance lens is produced economically. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
