PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a slide show for which the reproducing time of each of still images is optimally set depending on the number of persons on the still images. SOLUTION: When the slide show to sequentially reproduce and display a plurality of still images is executed, the number of object persons on each of the still images is specified. The reproducing time of each of the still images is calculated in accordance with the specified number of persons. The number of persons in the center of each of the still images and the number of persons in the periphery of each of the still images are counted, and a reproducing time is shorter when the persons exist in the periphery than when the persons exist in the center. Also, a reproducing time to be added for one person is longer when the total number of persons in the center and the periphery is smaller than a previously determined reference number of persons M than when the total number is larger.
