PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distributed cache system that efficiently uses storage areas of cache servers and reduces loads on the cache servers. SOLUTION: The cache system includes a plurality of cache servers for storing content. If requested content is not stored, each cache server acquires the content from the other cache servers storing the requested content, and according to the acquisition state of the acquired content, decides whether to store the acquired content.
