PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method using a heat developable photosensitive material recording a composite image of a silver image and a color image different from each other in image information, particularly to form a composite image useful as a medical diagnostic image. SOLUTION: In the image forming method using the heat developable photosensitive material having on a support at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent for silver ions and a binder, the heat developable photosensitive material is obtained by disposing at least two image forming layers having mutually different color sensitivities, and such a composite image of two or more pieces of image information is formed by performing heat development after image exposure with at least two lasers different from each other in wavelength and corresponding to the sensitization wavelengths of the image forming layers.
