PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic colander overcoming drawbacks of a conventional metallic colander and having high strength and design properties, and a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the metallic colander includes a step of providing a rim frame 1 by bending a strip with an appropriate width into a diameter of an arbitrary size, a step of forming an arcuately bent inner rim 2 at one of sides of the frame and forming a vertical outer rim 3 at the opposite side, a step of forming the inner rim of the frame from the arcuate form into a horizontal plane 4 and a vertical plane 5, a step of placing an outer peripheral rim 6' of a mesh 6 between the inner rim 2 and the outer rim 3 of the frame, and a step of compressing the rim frame in the above posture, causing the outer peripheral rim of the mesh of the outer rim to bite into a bent part 7 and causing the tip 5' of the vertical plane 5 of the inner rim formed from the horizontal plane to come into tight contact with the outer peripheral surface of the mesh. The metallic colander has a slope of the horizontal plane formed along the planar periphery of the rim frame along the inner peripheral rim of the mesh and a bent part of the frame formed along the outer peripheral rim of the mesh.
